WHAT WE DO

WHAT WE DO

We do Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Chinese Tuina massage, and Herbal therapy.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture describes procedures involving the stimulation in a variety of ways of carefully selected anatomical points called Acupoints on the body. The practice of Acupuncture itself involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, sterile metal needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is done through burning the herb called mugwort and applying the heat to Acupoints or certain parts of the body directly or indirectly.

Cupping

Cupping is a therapy in which a jar is anchored to the skin through the vacuum created by the lack of oxygen and the skin is pulled upward on the inside of the jar as the air inside cools.

Tuina massage

Tuina massage is a form of acupressure massage on muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Herbal therapy

Chinese herbal therapy means that herbs, herbal materials, herbal preparations and finished herbal products are administrated orally or externally. Primarily different parts of plants, such as the leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds but also some minerals and animal products, are used.

HOW IT WORKS

HOW IT WORKS

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) originated and has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It has evolved empirically from clinical experience in those years. It believes that it is critical to keep the good flow of Qi (Chi) " and blood along specific pathways, called meridians throughout the body,  the normal function of the Zang-fu organs and the balanced Yin and Yang in order to maintain health. Mainly Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Tuina Massage and Chinese Herbal therapy are commonly used to treat or prevent health problems.

What you expect during the treatment

It is normal to feel nervous the first time you have a treatment. Soon, however, you will find yourself feeling relaxed, and you may even fall asleep.

The needles used in acupuncture are as fine as a hair. When the needle is inserted, you may feel less discomfort than a mosquito bite—or nothing at all. When the needle is gently manipulated, you may experience a slight soreness, numbness, or even a tiny electric shock. This will not last long. After the needle is removed, sometimes slight bleeding or a bruise may occur.

While Moxibustion is being administered, you will feel warmth. Its intensity increases little by little. If the area being heated becomes too warm, of course you can ask your practitioner to remove the moxibustion.

Cupping gently pulls your skin and muscles via suction. It may leave a light bruise which will disappear in a few days.

Acupuncture is a medical art that has existed in China for thousands of years. Now American doctors are prescribing it for it beneficial effects and its remarkable safety.
